William T. Paulk – Partner
Achieving Legal Resolutions Tailored to Clients’ Needs
Since William Paulk joined Spotswood Sansom & Sansbury LLC, his complex litigation skills have been constantly put to the test. During his seven years with the firm, William has been involved in a wide-ranging assortment of cases on behalf of institutional and individual clients, both on the plaintiff and defense side.
William focuses primarily on complex business litigation in federal and state courts. However, his representation of individuals and small, family-owned entities often present challenging issues for which resorting to litigation is not a viable, or advisable, option.
Whether pursuing important constitutional principles on behalf of a Fortune 100 company or representing clients in governmental investigations, William’s ability to shift seamlessly among different venues and problems makes him an effective litigator and counselor for his clients. In 2011, 2012, and 2015 Alabama Super Lawyers recognized William as a “Rising Star,” a designation awarded to no more than 2.5 percent of eligible lawyers statewide.
Through experience gained in leadership positions such serving as managing editor of the Alabama Law Review and as a team captain of the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s varsity football team, William has learned to effectively manage team-oriented litigation and maintain a collegial working relationship with opposing counsel, even in sensitive and contentious cases.
Since joining the firm, William has represented both plaintiffs and defendants, an experience that has enhanced his ability to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of a dispute and develop an appropriate strategy for resolving it. When litigation becomes necessary, William’s detailed analysis of the case and experience managing large, complex matters across multiple venues and forums prove invaluable. William’s offensive-minded approach, utilized on both the plaintiff and defense side, positions him to deliver exceptional results to his clients.
