Appellate Litigation

Spotswood Sansom & Sansbury provides knowledgeable counseling and representation in the increasingly specialized area of appellate practice. Anchored by six former judicial clerks for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, our firm has represented clients in federal and state appellate courts throughout the United States. In recent years, we have represented clients in the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the First, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits; and the state appellate courts of Alabama, California, Illinois, Oregon, and Tennessee.
In addition to handling appeals for our trial-court litigation clients, Spotswood Sansom & Sansbury frequently handles appeals in cases in which we had no role at trial. As appellate counsel, we seek to bring fresh perspectives to the trial record and thoughtful consideration of the issues that are likely to prevail on appeal.
